Aportación al estudio de las fuentes de la Orden de Alcántara. Un nuevo códice de sus definiciones

This paper contributes to the study of the rules of the order of Alcántara and its manuscript tradition. It deals with a new codex that was hitherto unknown to researchers of this subject, giving a brief description of the manuscript and publishing its fundamental contribution in an appendix: the rules concerning the visit of abbot Pedro de Claraval in 1492, with do not appear in any of the other manuscripts with which I am familiar. It provides an extremely interesting insight into the internal organisation and religious life of the freiles of the military order of Alcántara at a key moment in their history: their incorporation into the Crown, which marked the start of the transformation of military orders in Spain.
