Community tourism has evolved in a dizzying way, generating expectations in tourists who have shown interest in practicing a different kind of tourism, which involves coexistence with nature, with residents, and even developing cultural and social exchanges. This research sought to identify the forms of community organization and learn about the management processes of the ecotourism center from the Santa Cruz community located in Palenque, Chiapas. Such a Community in charge of the Yaxal Juk-Pik Ecotourism Center. This research aimed to define how this community has been able to cope with the challenge of receiving national and international tourists; notwithstanding the fact of not having adequate academic preparation, lack of organizational instruments, and lack of infrastructure; whereas such factors are commonly pointed out as lead factors to generate adverse scenarios to face the goal of offering tourist services. The results show that despite these shortcomings, the committee members of this ecotourism center have overcome various obstacles that keep them in a position of improvement in their tourist work. Categories of study were generated such as rural tourism or ecotourism, the social aspect, and the environmental economic aspect; a thorough qualitative analysis was carried out using the Atlas. TI, which identifies aspects
such as collective management and economic growth, community organization and collective participation; meaning that the conditions are given so that this community can continue to offer this alternative of rural tourism.
