Inklings for a Double Makarismós of Horatian Stock in Gogol’s Dead Souls

According to the idea of makarismós, some praiseworthy influences of certain passages from Horace on a given context from Gogol’s Dead souls are trailed. Two questions are mostly faced: the ideal life which avoids daily anxieties and the good luck that should smile upon the successful writer.
