In the present contribution we examine an episode narrated by Lluís Ponç d’Icart en el Llibre de grandeses de Tarragona about the presence of Marcus Tullius Cicero in the Roman city of Tarraco. We try to establish the origins of the story, which is sustained by two Roman inscriptions from Tarragona that allegedly mention the Roman statesman.
