El inusual empleo de prælegere (Agr. 38,4; ann. 2,79,1; ann. 6,1,1) en Tácito con el sentido de ‘circunnavegar -­‐‑ costear’ se da con seguridad únicamente en dos otros autores narbonenses: Rutilio y Ennodio. Este particular detalle se suma a otros indicios que apuntan a un origen del historiador en la provincia de la Galia narbonense.
