Pedagogic fantasies: Beatriz Sarlo and her translations for Punto de vista (1978-1984)

This article reviews the translations produced by Beatriz Sarlo for Punto de vista between 1978 and 1984, and aims to account for both the critical actions within which they were framed and the intervention fantasies that triggered them. It shows that they were intended to shape a new reader: those readers-to-be to whom she also addresses her writing and the lessons she taught for her clandestine “study groups” during the Argentine dictatorship (1976-1983).
