The playwrights Leñero and Vilalta, influenced by Liberation Theology, recover the figure of the incarnate God as a mediating symbol between the historical-mythical discourse found in the hypotext of the New Testament and the reality of contemporary Mexican society. In order to achieve their aim, both undertake an exercise that proves the potential and validity of the myth, since, although they differ in the Christological perspective chosen (ascending or descending), they coincide in the message.

Author Biography

Maravillas Moreno Amor, Universidad de Murcia

Graduada en Lengua y Literatura Españolas con Premio Extraordinario Fin de Carrera por la Universidad de Murcia (2019). Máster en Formación del Profesorado de Educación Secundaria y Bachillerato (2020). Ha sido Becaria de Colaboración MEFP en el Departamento de Literatura Española, Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada de la Universidad de Murcia. Actualmente es Doctoranda y Contratada Predoctoral en la citada Universidad siendo su línea principal de investigación la Literatura Hispanoamericana, en concreto la dramaturgia mexicana femenina y la autora Maruxa Vilalta. Ha participado en numerosos congresos y publicado tanto artículos en revistas como capítulos de libro en editoriales como Academia del Hispanismo.
