Within the lite production of the Canadian novelist Timothy Findley, The Wars, occupies a special place. The theme of war haunted the author's mind for years. By writing a novel out, carefully and conscientiously, Findley could organize his thoughts, express his feelings, and attempt to carry out what could be considered a kind of moral duty.
