Rosenberger’s work is in nearly every respect a percussion concerto with chamber orchestra, fulfilling most of the traditional interrelationships between soloist and ensemble. Yet in lieu of flashy virtuosic cadenzas, the percussion part is dominated by simple gestures, albeit potent and often iconic.
