Murs i securitització, la construcció d’una espacialitat violenta

El present treball analitza el model de gestió fronterera mundial a partir de la construcció de murs, així com els motius que els governs exposen per justificar-ne la construcció en un període de 55 anys, de 1968 a 2023. En els 55 anys del període estudiat, s’ha detectat la construcció de 79 nous murs fronterers, 73 dels quals construïts després de la caiguda del mur de Berlín. D’aquesta manera, s’imposa un relat molt diferent del de la llibertat de moviment promesa amb l’entrada a la globalització. La construcció de murs fronterers s’ha convertit, des dels anys noranta, en l’aposta política majoritària per frenar el repte dels desplaçaments forçats, sobretot per part dels països més enriquits. Però els sistemes desplegats estan generant i transformant les formes de violència a les fronteres envers aquelles persones que, precisament, n’escapen, creant noves jerarquies espacials i erosionant la construcció de pau.
