This article concerns an inscribed lead micro-container from Morgantina, Sicily, found in the 2015 Contrada Agnese Project excavations. This is the earliest known lead microcontainer to be dated by its archaeological context rather than by letter forms. On the basis of the druggist named in the inscription, we argue that the vessel was an Attic import, and situate it in relation to other known examples of lead micro-containers, trade in the medicine lykion, and the material properties of lead for storage vessels.
