his work gathers information about the wild plant species used in the past in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands for the purpose of lighting, through oil lamps or torches, as well as those that have served us as tinder to ignite the fire.
43 taxa –27 genus– have been found of wild plants from 21 botanical families.
Despite falling into disuse many years ago, in some cases phytonymy has preserved the memory of this use.
